Biodiversity

The biodiversity, community Ecology and evolution topics will be supervised by the Biodiversity Horizontal Integration Team of which the specific objectives are:

1. To organise a field sampling standardisation workshop and to advice EDEN teams throughout the project on:

  • how to explore the interactions between pathogens, vectors, hosts and their environment in terms of co-adaptation and selection (online and on site consulting reports).
  • how to put linkages with large-scale, regional phenomena into perspectives to evaluate the impacts of global environmental changes on disease population and community dynamics (online and on site consulting reports).

2.To participate to the EDEN PhD program with a research topic on the "macro-ecological" patterns in European emergent infectious diseases (EDEN list and others) and the linkages that may exist between disease (emergence and dispersion) and ecosystem dynamics, and the extent to which the observed patterns are supported by field studies.
