The overall objective of the data management and information systems Horizontal Integration Team is to standardise data management within EDEN and to put into practice the procedures and protocols described in the strategy document and implemented by the Steering Committee. More specifically to:

1. Develop a web-based Integrated Data Exchange and Archiving System (IDEAS) to assist the EDEN community in developing predictive emergence and spread models.

• Data standardisation workshop.
• User questionnaire and user needs report.
• IDEAS web based data archive and clearing house beta version and final version.

2. Develop, under the supervision of the EDEN Steering Committee assisted by the EDEN Advisory Group, an integrative information system based on the various predictive emergence and spread models developed by the EDEN scientific teams (see below) and following a procedure established in the EDEN strategy document, to be disseminated to users (European Union, World Health Organization, Organisation Mondiale de la Santé Animale, Food and Agriculture Organization, National / regional / local administrations) to assist in prevention, early warning, surveillance and monitoring of emerging diseases in Europe (Advance work to be conducted at later stage).
